AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS

GIFTED & TALENTED PROGRAMS

The Pasadena Unified School District offers a Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program for grades three through 12. All students are assessed in second grade through the Cognitive Abilities Test, and eligible children can take advantage of advanced curriculums and special programs designed to challenge their unique needs.

CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION

In order to help students prepare for life after graduation, PUSD has created dedicated college and career academies within all four of its high schools. These institutions allow teens to explore different life skills and job paths, and each of the nine academies offers a different career focus.

MAGNET SCHOOLS

Pasadena's top-rated magnet schools feature concentrations in STEAM and STEM, visual and performing arts, early college and CTE, dual language immersion, or International Baccalaureate studies. These specialty institutions are open to all students within and outside the district, but applications are required.
