Westminster Presbyterian Church Rolls Out The Red Carpet for the “8th Annual Greg Baldwin Oscar Sunday Extravaganza” Sunday, March 7th, at 9:00 a.m and 11:00 a.m. Drawing inspiration from the films nominated for “Best Picture,” the writer/director team of Greg and Melissa Baldwin (creators of “NATIVITY! The Musical”) concoct a faux awards show that consistently elicits guffaws and “Aha!s” and somehow miraculously brings home a message about the most-thanked individual in Oscar history: God. Admission is free, “formal” attire is encouraged and refreshments will be served thereafter at the Governor’s Ball in the adjoining Fellowship Hall. Westminster Presbyterian Church is located at 542 N. Buena Vista Street (at the corner of Buena Vista and Clark) in Burbank. For more information, call (818) 842-5264. For a peek at last year’s festivities, watch the video. Church Website URL:  http://www.westpresburbank.org  Video URL:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9oJTbdoirw

HOP INTO SPRING AT THE EGG-CELLENT MAGNOLIA BICYCLE TOUR AND TREASURE HUNT
Kids and families are invited to hop on a bike and take a spin through the charming Magnolia Park neighborhood at the Egg-Cellent Magnolia Bicycle Tour and Treasure Hunt, Saturday, April 3 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. The event is free and open to the public.
When riders register at Chandler Bikeway and California Street, they will receive an egg-cellent gift and treasure map filled with tempting treats. They will also be able to participate in a bicycle and helmet decorating contest, enjoy free bicycle tune-ups courtesy of the Burbank Recycle Center, learn road safety tips from Burbank Bike, join in free arts and crafts activities, and check out other community based organizations.
Once riders complete their self-guided treasure hunt and get stamped at 10 locations, they will be automatically entered to win incredible grand prizes from Magnolia Park merchants (drawing at 7:00 P.M. – winners need not be present to win)
The event offers a rare (and free!) chance for kids and families to combine outdoor fun with exercise and explore an attractive neighborhood packed with exceptional boutiques and eateries.
The Egg-Cellent Magnolia Bicycle Tour is presented by Magnolia Park Partnership, the not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the Magnolia Park District. The area includes an established residential neighborhood of more than 3,000 homes and hundreds of community serving businesses on Magnolia Boulevard between Buena Vista and the city limit, and Hollywood Way between Clark and Chandler. Other events produced by the Magnolia Park Partnership include Be-Boppin’ in the Park in August and Holiday in the Park in November.
Additional sponsors include Burbank Bike, a City of Burbank sponsored program aimed at promoting bicycling as an environmentally sustainable transportation alternative that serves as a simple method to reduce traffic congestion, and the Public Works Burbank Recycle Center, leading the way to Zero Waste.
