Public school students in Valley Glen are served by Los Angeles Unified School District. There are seven public schools located within the community, Coldwater Canyon Elementary, Kittridge Street Elementary, Erwin Elementary, Monlux Magnet Elementary, James Madison Middle, Ulysses S. Grand High School, and Jack London Continuation School, though students to have access to additional public, magnet, and charter school options just outside the neighborhood.

Additionally, Valley Glen is home to six private schools, the ABC Little School, Lawrence School, St. Jane Frances de Chantal School, Summit View School, O Hachaim Academy, and Adat Ari El Day School, as well as the community college Los Angeles Valley College.
